…mingle back into blogging that is!
I’m back with another cafe! Although I’m still recovering from my brother’s wedding and a deadly virus (my tastebuds feel like they’ve been zapped from all the cough sweets). But before the wedding mayhem, I managed to slip away for some brunch.
Hidden in plain sight, you might think this was your average cafe, but seriously this was something like Doctor Who’s Tardis: Bigger inside than it looked from the outside and all that jazz (I was a huge fan – don’t judge).
Freshly baked bread on the premises, they had a huge range to suit everyone – from vegans to your gluten-free options.
They had some vege salads on display too!
Mocha £2.90 & Freshly Squeezed Orange juice £3.50
The freshly squeezed orange juice was truly delicious. You know how orange juice can leave a horrible after-taste – I’m more of an apple juice person – but this was enough to convert me. If only I had the time and motivation to squeeze orange juice for myself every day – I would. Although I bet it still wouldn’t taste this good.
Oh and the mocha *drools* was so creamy and so chocolatey. I could barely taste the coffee but who cares, hot chocolate is still better.
Veggie baked eggs £10
The veggie baked eggs were so filling, it consisted of sweet potato, beans, onions, spinach and eggs all in the form of a casserole type dish. I chose the supernova super seeded bread (vegan) to go along with it. I liked how the onions were caramelised first so it gave the dish a much-needed sweetness. I’m pretty sure this is syn-free too (for those of you following the slimming world diet).
Side of halloumi for an added £1
Decent sized pieces of halloumi on the side. To be honest, I didn’t know what to do with them. There was no space in the dish and it was so filling the halloumi became a chore to incorporate – but nonetheless, still delicious.
Salmon Sandwich £8.50
Needed a bit more seasoning on the salmon although the pesto was a nice touch and brought this dish together. I’m getting a bit bored of poached eggs and salmon now, is there any new way to make them, if so, I’d like to try that.
The overall bill amounted to £26.40, considering the portion sizes and quality I’d say this was justifiable. The chilled atmosphere and the friendly staff is another reason why I’d definitely visit again – and of course the food 📷
